PCI Council Updates PCI Data Security Standard

image.axd On April 15th, 2015 the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) released the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Version 3.1 and supporting guides. This revision is effective immediately and includes minor updates and clarifications to eCommerce security addressing numerous vulnerabilities within the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and early versions of the Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption protocols that can put customer credit card payment data at risk. PCI DSS Version 3.0 will be retired on 30 June 2015.

The full notice can be found on the PCI Security Standards website.

Although eCommerce sites hosted at Scarab Media, Project A, Inc. are PCI DSS Version 3.0 compliant, as of today we are not fully Version 3.1 compliant. Work is already underway to be fully compliant before August 2015 when Version 3.0 is officially obsolete.

If you have any specific questions as to how these changes affect your eCommerce website designed or hosted by Scarab Media or Project A, Inc. please contact us at support@scarabmedia.com or by phone at 1-541-488-1702.
